(Bookish) From Goodreads First we have to thank the gods of the Astounding Science Fiction Magazine and, yeah, Isaac Asimov. When I was about 13 years old, I found the first of his Robot novels, and I was hooked. I ordered the second one, and then the third, and then the fourth, and then the fifth, and kept on going until I discovered the rest of his robot novels and his other science fiction, and my boyhood was complete.
The story concerns a terrorist known as the Preacher. The Preacher has a very simple methodology. He preaches, on a regular basis, the virtues of a kind of Islamic (or Islamic-inspired) fascism. He is an anti-American. He is against the West. He also, it seems, is a coward. The Preacher uses the Internet to distribute his message, to recruit new members to his cause and to spread his message. He is a man who has killed before but is constantly thwarted. He has brought more innocent people to their death than he is worth. There is no shortage of anti-terrorist groups who want him dead. They are willing to stop at nothing to ensure he is dead, but the Preacher, using his extraordinary powers of persuasion, has kept just one step ahead of them. He knows he is on to something, that the powers that be are more interested in containing his ideas than they are in killing him. Until he is captured. Then the powers that be would rather kill him than let his ideas win out.
Critics also dismiss The Kill List for being too long at nearly 350 pages. I disagree. I read the book in one day, with no problem, and could have easily read it twice. It is the author s best work. He is the master of his trade. I would recommend The Kill List to anyone who loves an exciting read and is looking for something new. But I would avoid reading the book if I were looking for a new thriller writer.

It s a job that requires all of the Tracker s skills as well as some that he hasn t thought of. As he searches for this defendant, he s chased by other people on the government s kill list, and is just as determined to capture him in court as they are to get him before the executioner. 827ec27edc
